After years of creating spaces for others, I'm making room for a different kind of work… intuitive painting inspired by nature, movement, and becoming.
Kerri Sinnenberg is a New York-based visual artist working primarily in intuitive organic abstraction. Her current paintings develop through layering and spontaneous mark-making, allowing botanical, figurative and landscape-like forms to emerge without predetermined imagery.
Her artistic background spans painting, drawing, sculpture, illustration, murals and decorative arts. Sinnenberg studied fine art at Lake Tahoe Community College, where her work received multiple exhibition awards, including Best of Show in Oil Painting and awards in drawing, portraiture, figure painting and sculpture.
After operating the mural and decorative-painting studio Artistic Dreams for more than a decade and building a 24+ year career in interior and kitchen design, Sinnenberg returned to a sustained independent studio practice in 2026. Her current work often incorporates reclaimed cabinetry panels, connecting materials from her design career with her contemporary painting practice.
She lives and works in New York's Capital Region.
On the work
These intuitive pieces explore movement, color, and forms that emerge rather than announce themselves. I'm learning to follow the conversation instead of controlling it.
Most of the work is acrylic on reclaimed cabinet panels.
What began as a personal commitment to paint regularly has slowly grown into a cohesive body of work.
